Privacy Policy

This policy describes how GistNode (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use the GistNode Android application, related cloud features, and the gistnode.web.app marketing site.

1. Who we are

GistNode is an AI-enhanced PDF reader. You can reach us for privacy questions, support, or general concerns at vaayuapp@gmail.com. The Google Play listing may list additional contact details.

2. Information stored on your device

The app stores PDF files, reading position, highlights, bookmarks, AI interaction history linked to documents, credit balance, streak and settings, and similar data locally on your device using SQLite and Android storage. This data is not continuously synchronized to our servers as a full library backup solely by virtue of installing the app.

3. Information processed when you use AI

When you invoke AI features, relevant content (such as selected text, questions you type, or a rendered image of a PDF page for vision features) is transmitted to our backend (e.g. Firebase Cloud Functions) and to model providers as required to generate a response. We use this processing to fulfill your request and to operate the credit system. Retention and subprocessors depend on your Firebase and model provider configuration; you should review Google Cloud / Firebase documentation and your deployment settings.

4. Analytics

We may use Firebase Analytics or similar tools to collect usage events (for example app opens, feature usage, ad completion) in aggregated form. These events help us improve the product and are generally not intended to include the full text of your PDFs.

5. Advertising

If you opt into rewarded advertising, Google Mobile Ads (or another network you configure) may collect or receive identifiers and usage data under their own privacy policies. We do not control third-party ad networks’ data practices.

6. This website

The static site at gistnode.web.app may be served by Firebase Hosting. Standard server logs and hosting provider metrics may include IP address, user agent, and request metadata. We do not use this site to collect accounts or form submissions unless we add such features and update this policy.

7. Children

GistNode is not directed at children under 13 (or the age required in your jurisdiction). Do not use the app if you are not old enough to consent to data processing where you live.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to certain processing. Many on-device records can be removed by uninstalling the app or clearing app data. For rights that relate to data held by us or our processors, email vaayuapp@gmail.com or use the contact on the Play Store listing.

9. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy, except where stricter law requires additional consent.
